Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

Nietzsche was born in 1844 in Prussia. He began his academic career asa philologist and produced critiques of religion, morality, contemporary culture, philosophy and science. Nietzsche's works make a distinctive style, tending more to the aphoristic, and to the paradoxical than didstandard contemporary philosophic treatises.
Hereceived recognition during the first half of the 20th century in German, French and British intellectual circles. He gained notoriety when the Naci Party apropiated him as a forebear, despite Nietzsche's profesed opposition to antisemitism and German nationalism but in concert with Nietzsche specific anti-christiamanti-judaism. After World War II Kaufman embarked in the english speaking world.
Directly and mediately through Heidegger, he influenced existencialism, postmodernism, psychoanalysis and libertalism. Althougt he hadbecome a professor at age 25, and then heleft due to illness at age 34 with a pension in 1879. He died in 1900
